a) Analyse the purpose of Bhimbetka cave paintings.
Bhimbetka is primarily famous for housing a number of prehistoric rock paintings in South Asia. The Rock Shelters found at Bhimbetka show the earliest traces of human existence in India.
According to archaeologists, these caves were inhabited over 30,000 years back
Only forty odd kilometres to the south of Bhopal, this place, is called Bhimbetka; and it is home to some of the oldest cave paintings known to man. ... These rock paintings were discovered by VS Wakankar in 1957 when he saw some unique rock formations while travelling by train.

✴The Indus River Valley Civilization, also known as Harappan civilization.
✴Harappans created sculpture, seals, pottery, and jewelry from materials, such as terracotta, metal, and stone.

✴This period was invoked in the 6th century. Jainism was started by Mahavira and therefore was titled as” The Great Hero”.
✴Jainism promoted self-torture. Buddhism was started by Guatum Siddharta and therefore was titled as ‘The Enlighted one”. Both these religions release the worldly desires.

✴The occupations like Fishing, Farming, Jewelling, Trading, and pottery were some of the Harappa’s peoples occupation.
✴This civilization was one the advanced civilization of that time. Wheels were invented during this period and hence pottery was established as the main occupation of Harappa’s people.
✴The archaeological finds from Alamgirpur in Meerut district reflected the Harappan culture. Alamgirpur was discovered in 1959.
✴This site shows the presence of Harappan civilization to the east of Yamuna river.It was the easternmost territory of the Indus valley civilization.Vedic Culture started in Indian sub-continent from 1500 BC onwards.

Regionalism is an ideology wherein a specific territory or region is given priority and aims at local development wherein the interest of the region is given priority.
The merits of regionalism are:
The regional development, well being and superiority are placed above all. Hence this leads to better economic and social development.
The region has better control and authority over the governance (laws and enforcement). This ensures the regional ideas and culture is intact.
